Dover Ferry Terminals are easily accessible by road, rail, and on foot. 

Here you’ll find all the information you need to get there on your departure day. Make sure you leave in plenty of time – check-in closes 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure time for foot passengers and customers travelling with pets, and 60 minutes for all other categories of traffic.

  • Arriving at the Port

    Please ensure you use the correct lane once you arrive at the port and stay in it until boarding the ferry and obey traffic lights/signals. There will be stewards at hand to help direct you if you are unsure of where to go at our Dover ferry terminal.

    There are lifts and stairs available for use on our Dover to Calais ships to access the main passenger decks from the car deck. Please remember to note which deck you are parked on and the corresponding colour zone. You will also find deck plans located on each deck to guide you throughout the ship.

    The Port of Calais connects directly to the A26/E15 heading to Paris or alternatively, take the A16/E40 to access the Northern European motorway systems. Calais Ville train station is in the centre of town and you can drive or get a taxi there from the Ferry Terminal in less than 10 minutes. Alternatively, there is a shuttle bus service for foot passengers to Calais town centre. The Balad’in is free shuttle bus which connects the Ferry Terminal to the city center of Calais every 22 minutes in the morning and every 11 minutes in the afternoon. Non stop from Monday to Saturday (except on 12/25 and 01/01), from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm. Covid restrictions may apply.
